Bare! True Stories of Sex, Desire and Romance brings together storytellers, comedians, sex educators and others to share true tales from their own experiences of sex, desire and romance. With stories as diverse as the people telling them, Bare! opens doors to bedrooms, back seats and dungeons to tell what your mama left out about the birds, bees and in-betweens.
Featuring storytellers sharing tales you won’t hear elsewhere with Boston’s sexiest audience.
Join our daring storytellers as tell tales of experiences gained and cherries lost.
Hosted by Jefferson (One Life Take Two, Spill!)

. . . and you! You’ve got a tale of a memorable first. Put your name in the hat for a chance to bare all on the Bare! stage.
Jefferson is the curator and host of Bare! A sex educator and writer, Jefferson keeps a pseudonymous blog, One Life, Take Two, that details his life as a parent and pervert. He is a storyteller frequently seen on stages around the city and elsewhere, including The Moth, where he is a StorySlam winner. He is also host of the monthly series Spill! True Stories of Queer Sex, Desire and Romance.
Michael Anderson is a First Amendment lawyer. He thinks: there’s no such thing as free speech if you don’t use it. After he takes off his tie, he talks to audiences in ways they don’t allow in federal court. He has performed in venues from San Francisco to London.
Matt Kona is a regular on the Boston Comedy Scene, and a fresh voice. Not for the faint of heart, Matt’s dark sense of humor pokes fun at topics from the mundane to the taboo with equal sharpness. He blends absurdist one liners and twisted topical commentary in with bizarre personal stories. He hosts the weekly Comics Coming Up Podcast available on his website and itunes.
Laura Packer believes storytelling is humanity’s oldest and richest artform. She also believes free speech matters, talking about sex is important and everyone has a naughty story or two stashed somewhere. In addition to telling stories with words that begin with “f,” Laura performs and teaches around the world, helps organizations discover and use story, runs venues, coaches and encourages everyone to listen, tell and create joyfully.
Michael Pope is a filmmaker whose music videos are in MTV, LOGO and RAGE rotation and have seen premieres on People, Spin and Pitchfork sites. His award winning experimental film Neovoxer united hundreds of artists from the United States and the Czech Republic in a “primal scream of creative expression” and he was once bestowed the title of “Boston’s Best Visual Artist” by the Boston Phoenix. He continues his career as artist and raconteur with his one man show Michael Pope Is Gay For Pay, chronicling his legendary career as a phone sex operator in New York City.
Shari VanderWerf is a Boston-based writer and stand-up comedian. Her work has appeared on television and in a host of international publications. She is the writer and producer of Late Listed, a series of short films about stand-up comedy and released her first comedy EP in September of 2012. Over 24,000 subscribers enjoy Shari’s daily dose of humor via her Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/shariv67 which earned her the Huffington Post’s recommendation as one of the top funny females to follow.
