New York’s sexiest storytelling show is now monthly in Boston. Join us first Mondays at Middle East Corner.
Bare! True Stories of Sex, Desire and Romance brings together storytellers, comedians, sex educators and others to share true tales from their own experiences of sex, desire and romance. With stories as diverse as the people telling them, Bare! opens doors to bedrooms, back seats and dungeons to tell what your mama left out about the birds, bees and in-betweens.
Join our mild-to-wild storytellers on wild card night; no theme, no holds barred.
Hosted by Jefferson (One Life Take Two, Spill!)
Chris Connolly (Bare! Feature)
Anais Dreame (Stark Naked Blog)
Wes Hazard (Comedian)
Kevin Quigley (Bleed Out)
Emily Ruskowski (Comedian)
. . . and you! Put your name in the hat for a chance to bare all on the Bare! stage.
. . . and more! One lucky audience member will win a sexy raffle prize courtesy of Hubba Huba.
Jefferson is the curator and host of Bare!, monthly in Boston, New York and Washington, D.C. A sex educator and writer, Jefferson keeps a pseudonymous blog, One Life, Take Two, that details his life as a parent and pervert. He is a storyteller frequently seen on stages around New York and elsewhere, including The Moth, where he is a StorySlam winner. He is also host of Spill! True Stories of Queer Sex, Desire and Romance, monthly in New York and Washington, D.C., and Foreplay! A Sexy Storytelling Open Mic, biweekly in New York.
Chris Connolly has lived through an Ecuadoran coup d’etat, been a massage therapist to the Bush family and named the octopus that frequents her favorite dive spot off the coast of Israel “Fred.” Chris has been talking about sex as an educator for over a decade working in clinics to universities and everything in between. She recently transitioned from not only teaching about sex, but also laughing about it in her stand up and stories.
Anais Dreame is a New York-based writer and author of Stark Naked Blog, where she covers sex, kink and the Gotham’s underground culture. She has previously written for business publications, educational textbooks, theater industry newspapers and literary magazines. She has told stories at The Moth and Jefferson’s Bare! and Spill!shows in New York.
Wes Hazard considers himself extremely lucky to be able to get on stage and entertain people. A 2011 resident at the celebrated Comedy Studio in Cambridge, he was selected to perform in the 2012 Boston Comedy Festival and the 2013 Women in Comedy Festival (yes). In addition, in March of 2013 he was named one of the “Five Boston Comedians to Watch” by the Boston Globe. Whether he’s deconstructing the politics of 80s cartoons, analyzing race in post-Obama America, or obsessing about the everyday things that make life a little surreal for us all, Wes Hazard is able to delight audiences with his singular wit, insight and energy. He wishes you nothing but the best.
Kevin Quigley has worked as the producer of Sketchhaus, the premier sketch comedy night at ImprovBoston, since early 2012. He also directs, acts, and writes for two sketch comedy teams, Duct Tape Revolution and World of Hurt, both of which have had successful runs at both Sketchhaus and at the Comedy Lab at IB. In addition, Kevin co-produced The Scoop, a limited-run storytelling night, during which he frequently appeared as a performer. Kevin has also performed standup at 100 First Jokes, and more recently at Andy Ofiesh’s Naked Comedy Night. He is the host of Bleed Out, a confessional storytelling show at Radio Comedy.
Emily Ruskowski has returned to her hometown Boston after performing stand up comedy in the Washington, D.C. area for the past three years. She was the 2011 winner of the D.C. Improv District’s Funniest College Competition. She performed at the 2012 Boston Women in Comedy Festival and has opened for Tony Rock and Gilbert Gottfried.
